During Wildlife Season, Hotel Aguas Claras offers a different perspective on Costa Rica’s Caribbean coast. Wildlife is present year-round, with sloths, monkeys, and birdlife moving through the property daily.
The season evolves across the months, with especially clear conditions in September and October, when reef and rainforest experiences align. From snorkeling in Cahuita to time spent within the hotel grounds, experiences are shaped around what’s most active. Sightings are never guaranteed, but this is a strong window to experience the Caribbean at its most balanced.
WHAT’S INCLUDED
Experiences are planned around daily conditions, with flexibility to make the most of clear water, active wildlife, and the natural pace of the coast.
Guided snorkeling along one of Costa Rica’s largest coral reef systems, where visibility and marine life are often strongest during the later months of Wildlife Season. Conditions are monitored daily to align outings with the clearest water.
Sloths, monkeys, frogs, and birdlife are commonly seen throughout the hotel grounds, often without the need for a guided excursion. Many guests find that wildlife encounters happen naturally as part of their stay.
Guided walks through nearby rainforest trails, where wildlife activity builds throughout the day. Experiences are paced to match conditions, balancing time between forest and coast.
A night walk scheduled when conditions allow, offering the chance to observe frogs, insects, and nocturnal species that become more active after dark.
Experiences such as chocolate and waterfall visits that connect the surrounding landscape with local culture, offering a broader view of the region beyond wildlife.
